Purse Care
Felted wool purses just like a wool sweater are made from natural wool fibers and these fibers may stretch overtime. Wool purses will withstand a reasonable load, but too much weight can cause the straps that are felted to stretch and the bag itself to stretch, so please don’t overload your purse!
Even though your purse is very durable, it may at some point in time become soiled. The purse can be dry cleaned (please consult with your dry cleaner about any parts such as handles or buttons that could be affected by dry cleaning) or you can also wash it.
Do not ever run your purse through the washer and dryer!
Instructions for hand washing:
- Remove any ornaments or other adornments, if possible.
- Pull the lining outside of the purse (it is not attached at the bottom of the inside of the purse). Place the purse in tepid water keeping as much of the lining out of the water as possible and add a small amount of mild liquid soap (I recommend using Eucalan Lanolin enriched concentrate because it does not have to be rinsed out.)
- Let the purse soak in the water for about 10 - 15 minutes and then gently squeeze to remove dirt and water. Some color may bleed from the purse during this process, but this is normal and nothing to be concerned with.
- Rinse in clear cool water to get the remaining soap out, again gently squeezing to remove as much of the water as possible from the purse. DO NOT WRING!
- To remove the rest of the water, lay the purse flat out on an absorbent towel, roll the purse up in the towel forming a roll and using firm pressure, roll the purse and towel along a flat surface until the purse is just damp.
- Reshape your purse and push the lining back inside so it fits the shape of the purse. Stuff your purse with plastic bags to keep its original shape and size and let it dry standing up with the plastic bags inside. Dry completely before reusing your bag
